I want my IPA apps signed on my iPhone, no PC

Your .ipa file, a signing certificate, and the ESign installer: together they sign the app and put it on your Home Screen.

Is the .ipa already in your Files app?Yes

No: download it in Safari, it saves to Files.

Should the signing happen on the phone itself?Yes

No: a desktop signer suits you better.

How the install goes

People who search for Scarlet iOS want one thing from it: IPA apps installed straight from the iPhone. ESign handles the signing part on the device, in four moves.

1Get the installer

Tap Sign my IPAs, choose iPhone as your platform and follow the install steps for ESign.

2Import the IPA

Open ESign and import the .ipa file from the Files app. It stays on the phone the whole time.

3Sign and install

ESign signs the file with a certificate and hands it to iOS, which asks you to confirm the install.

4Trust and open

If iOS says the developer is untrusted, open Settings, General, VPN and Device Management, trust the profile, then open the app.

Note. Signing happens on the iPhone: no cable, no Mac, no Windows PC.
Warning. When a certificate is revoked, apps signed with it stop opening. Sign them again with a working one.

Check this first

Do not use it if

  • You only want App Store apps: the App Store already installs those.
  • You expect an app to keep working after its certificate is revoked.

Use it for

  • IPA files you already have, signed and installed on the iPhone.
  • Custom apps that are not on the App Store.

Good to know

  • iOS asks you to trust a developer once. After that, other apps from the same developer open right away.

Two things people get wrong

Tap a card to flip it over.

Who it suits

  • 1If you have no computer at hand: the whole sign and install runs on the iPhone.
  • 2If an .ipa is sitting in Files: ESign imports it from there and signs it.
  • 3If an app stopped opening after a revoke: sign it again and reinstall it.
